4-Hour Workshop: Introduction to Colour Theory for Weavers and Textile Artists

If you would like to develop more confidence in combining colours in your weaving, this 4-hour workshop offers an introduction to basic colour theory and colour schemes. You will explore ways to find inspiration, develop colour ideas, and begin planning palettes for future projects. The workshop also encourages experimentation with colours you may not usually choose, using a range of practical exercises and techniques.

Activities include working with paint, coloured pencils, photography, collage, and yarn wrapping. By the end of the session, you will have a small workbook containing worksheets, the beginnings of a sketchbook, and several colour schemes to use in future weaving projects.

Please let me know in advance if you have any special requests, such as plant-based yarns only. Tea or coffee will be available and we will stop for a quick 15 minute lunch around noon, if you would like to bring a bagged lunch.
